ANUKRET DATED SEPTEMBER 20, 1995

ON THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE ANTI-DRUG BUREAU

Pursuant to the proposal of the Co-Ministries of Interior; and

In accordance with the approval of the Council of Ministers;

It is Hereby Decided:

Article 1:

To establish the Anti-Drug Bureau. The rank of the Anti-Drug Bureau shall be equal to a department and be under the supervision of the Department-General of the National police.

Article 2:

The Anti-Drug Bureau shall have the following roles and responsibilities:

To direct and order the police to investigate information to take measures against drugs.

To co-operate with the department and police station of provinces and municipalities and to provide information on drug activities to the Anti-Drug Bureau so that it can take measure to suppress it.

To co-operate closely with the Anti-Drug Authority, Ministry of Health, Ministry Economy and Finances, Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Industries Energy and Mines, Ministry of Defense, and other ministries and institutions to suppress drug.

To organize program against drug suppression in accordance with international principles and the directives of the police of the Royal Government.

To participate in overseas meetings on the issue of drug suppression.

To prepare training program for the National police to suppress drug.

To exercise other roles and responsibilities involved in drug suppression as delegated by the Ministry of Interior and the Anti-Drug Authority.

Article 3:

The organization of the roles and structure of the Anti-Drug Bureau shall be specified by Declaration (Prakas) of the Co-Ministers of Interior.

Article 4:

The Co-Ministers in charge of the office of the Council of Ministers, the Minister of Justice, the Co-Ministers of Interior, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Minister of Economy and Finances, Ministers and State Secretaries of relevant ministries and institutions shall implement this Anukret from the date of its signatures.
