In response to your requests, we are currently implementing a number of changes to our billing system. You can now select whether you wish to receive your monthly email invoice in full detail or condensed into a summary. To select this log in to the account management page on our web site. In the preferences section select summary or detail and click "confirm changes". Also in this preferences section you can see the two other new options labeled "Receive Newsletter" and "List in email Directory". The former determines whether you wish to receive emails such as this from BigPond and the latter determines whether or not you wish to appear in the BigPond directories which we hope to have on line soon.
If you want to know how much free time you have left on your BigPond account at any time just send an email to freetime@bigpond.com.kh. No subject or message is necessary. You should automatically receive a response.
We are making some changes to our web site to make it easier to navigate
and more useful. The opening page has a menu on the left hand side.
Click a folder on this menu to open lower level menus - just like using
Windows Explorer. As well as a quick way of getting to BigPond pages
there are also quick ways to get to your favorite search engines and
directories. If you experience problems accessing this page it may be
because your browser does not support the JavaScript language which the
page makes use of. An alternate page is provided at .
As part of the changes to the BigPond Web Site we are launching an
interactive site. This contains a number of areas where BigPond members
can provide information relevant to other members as well as finding it.
The "What's On" Calendar is enables anyone to publicise their event or
meeting. So if you are planning a special event at your restaurant , are
hosting a public meeting or are organising a weekly Softball game then this
is the place to publicise it. And it's free.
The Link List is a directory of internet sites arranged in a similar
fashion to Yahoo. We intend to build this up to be a broad range of
references to information interesting to those living and working in
Cambodia. If you want to suggest a link just click on the "Add a
resource" link and feel free to include your own web pages. We will use
the Link List to store all links referenced in previous newsletters and
also to build a directory of directories and search engines to suit every
need.
One final additional is the trial of a discussion board where you can air
your views on any subject.
We have been working on producing a directory of BigPond addresses. This will take the form of a web page on where anyone can search for BigPond email addresses. We hope to extend this in the future to allow queries to be submitted by email as well as the Web. In order to be included in this directory please go to the preferences section of the account management page and select whether or not you wish to be included. We will not make public your address without this permission. This should be ready within the next month.
We would like to invite you to share your experiences of the Web. We are offering 8 free hours for select customers to surf the net and report to other BigPond users what they have discovered. Please note that there will be a maximum of 3 customers selected and the choice will be based on a broad spread of interest reflecting the mixed cultural and national base of our customers.
Many of you will now have tried the excellent Phnom Penh Post web site. This is updated at the same time as the Newspaper is printed and includes a fully searchable archive, classified advertisements as well as the main stories in the paper, the letters and Gecko sections. For customers ac cessing the site from outside of our network the site is now a subscription service but for BigPond Customers the site continues to be FREE.(Please note that normal BigPond dial up charges still apply.)

We present here a few more interesting directories and search engines to

At http://www.miningco.com/Inner.htm REAL PEOPLE are commissioned to
research the resources available for a particular area of interest. It
gives this site quite a different feel. You could even become a reviewer
for them !
One of the more established directories that includes a rating system is

The grandfather of the web browser, Netscape, has a very good site at

capabilities as well as links to the other major search engines.

TV Sites

A BigPond customer has suggested it would be useful to get TV listing for
the channels carried on the various cable / radio systems in town, We've
found a few but if you know of others please let us know. We will be
including this in the Link List on our Site.
