Process of the establishment of JSAC

 2001: April   Government of Japan contributed "Grassroots Grant Aid" for "weapons for development" project implemented by EU ASAC in Cambodia.
  2001: Oct Japan dispatched a specialist (Kentaro Gemma, ex-Project Manager of JSAC) for the feasibility study of Comprehensive Small Arms Management Program in Cambodia.
 2002: Dec   The program was approved under the Japanese Cabinet
 2003: Jan   Exchange of Note (E/N) was concluded between the Royal Government of Cambodia and the Government of Japan. ("Peace Building and Comprehensive Small Arms Management Program in Cambodia.")
 2003: Mar Japan International Cooperation Systems (JICS) signed the Agent Agreement with the Ministry of Interior for coordination and the procurement of the program.
 2003: April JSAC was organized and started its activities on April 20, 2003.
 2005: Jan Exchange of Notes (E/N) was concluded between the Royal Government of Cambodia and the Government of Japan for JSAC's 2nd Phase.
 2005: Feb JICS signed the Agent Agreement with the Ministry of Interior for JSAC's 2nd Phase.


      Award of Medals to JSAC Staff

The following medals were awarded to JSAC's entire staff by the Goverment of Cambodia during the JSAC's 6th Weapons Destruction Ceremony on March 13, 2005.

Saha Metrei Medal : awarded to people for deplomatic achievements for the sake of friendship of the two countries.

Asharith (Cavalier)・・・Yasumitsu Kida, Yukako Hiraki, Manami Shintaku (ex-Project Officer)

Working Medal : awarded to people for outstanding work/achievements in terms of administration or private sector.
