What is "KYOGEN"?

"KYOGEN" is a Japanese form of classic comedy drama, with it origins in the 14th century, and has remained in the same form since the early 16th century.  With no stage props, "KYOGEN" depends solely on the actors' action for all types of expression including changes of scenery and time.

Note 1: Lectures on KYOGEN will be given at the beginning of the Performances in Japanese with Khmer translation, whereas English Explanation is distributed in a handout.

Note 2: As seats are limited, those who would like to come to these performances are requested to call to the Embassy of Japan (Cultural Section: Tel 023-217161~4) to receive tickets in advance.
