The Performers....... 　　「津軽三味線 "風" ＫＡＺＥ」は津軽三味線の最高峰であり民謡界の重鎮である高橋祐次郎氏が、その弟子達を中心として昭和６２年に結成した日本で初めての民俗音楽団で、時代の枠や既成概念にとらわれない和楽器の創造団体を目指している。メンバーはそれぞれ三味線、尺八、唄、太鼓の分野で長年専門的に訓練を受け、技術と知識を身に付けた逸材ぞろいで、公演の規模や性格によって１名から１００名までの編成で演奏活動を行う。「津軽三味線 "風" ＫＡＺＥ」の音楽は、その超越した技巧と多彩な表現力が極めて現代的であり、伝統芸能になじみの薄い外国人にも、その魅力をストレートに伝えるものである。 KAZE is a folk music ensamble that pursues a style of ethnic music that is rooted in tradition but at the same time transcendes the image generally associated with classical folksong.The members of KAZE are gifted musicians who have undergone many years of specialized training, which includes the study of the tsugaru shamisen, transverse flutes, the shakuhachi, and the folk singing. The tsugaru shamisen is an instrurment used in one of the best-known forms of Japanese folk music. They are mostly comprised of a number of outstanding pupils of Yujiro Takahashi, an active researcher and teacher of the instrument, who is renowned for establishing the new style of the tsugaru shamisen ensemble performance.
