Inauguration Ceremony of Primary School Buildings
in Kompong Chhnang Province

This inauguration ceremony is conducted with the presence of Kompong Chhnang Governor, Under Secretary of State of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, Second Secretary of the Embassy of Japan to the Kingdom of Cambodia, representative from the World Vision as well as local authority.

This is an inauguration ceremony of five school buildings equipped with necessary furniture and two offices. These school buildings were constructed at Chey Mongkol (two school buildings) and Rokar Primary schools in Kandal province, at Salalek Pram and Svay Kabav primary schools in Kompong Chhnang province. World Vision Japan implements this school construction project under the Government of Japan's Grant Assistance for grass-roots Projects called "KUSANONE" in Japanese. The grant amount of US$ 123,193 was provided for this project.

"KUSANONE" is Japan's grant aid to support small-scale, grass-roots projects implemented by international and local NGOs as well as local authorities. It is an important pillar of Japan's economic cooperation to Cambodia. Since its start in 1992, the total amount of US$ 15,123,045 has been provided to assist 242 projects to help Cambodian rehabilitation and development efforts at grass-roots level.
