Gender Publications |
|
Gender booklets or handbooks have been prepared for Gender and Development for Cambodia (GAD/C) as a basic resource text, which defines and explains the key terms and concepts which surround the general topic of gender. Gender is a relatively new concept. It is a word that can arouse suspicion and resistance. These reactions usually result from misunderstanding about what gender really means. Understanding gender is important for all those who are working for national development whether they are community development workers employed by non-government organizations for teachers and other officials who are employed by the government. Tertiary level students should also find the small gender handbooks a worthwhile reference. GAD/C welcomes comments about the handbooks. We hope that it can benefit discussion about why gender equity is important for both women and men.
