CHA Workshops Export Information

CHA Workshop is delighted about your interest in placing an order for export.  It may give you great satisfaction to know that you are are assisting disabled Cambodian artisans to help themselves.  CHA workshop's goal is to provide skill and to assist disabled persons to reintegrate in society in a meaningful and dignified way.  By working with us, you help to generate public awareness that the disabled are, in fact, able.  The following are typical questions we receive about placing orders with CHA workshop:

How do we place an order?

If you have not seen our product catalogue, please ask us to send you one.  Please send a check for US$ 10 to help sharing in the cost of sanding you a Khmer silk catalogue. This amount will be deducted from your first  CHA order. Please specify if you have a particular interest in color or pattern of Cambodian silk. For all orders, we appreciate a down payment of 30% and, for orders over $1,000, we must ask for 50% in advance. your advance payment enables us to buy materials and cover overhead costs. Please use our product codes  for ordering and when possible, enclose a photocopy of the product photographs this will assist in ensuring prompt delivery of your product choice.

How will the shipment be delivered?

Due to be complicated political situation in Cambodia, we advise air freight for all products.  Air freight is usually US$ 14-$ 20 per kilogram (2.3 lbs) depending on the destination.

Who makes the products?

All artisans are landmine and polio disabled Cambodians who have completed a full-fledged tailoring and weaving course at Skill Training Program in Cambodia CHA seeks to provide the artisans with control over the whole marketing process.  We buy silk from CHA trained weavers or poor weavers in the provinces.

Discounts

For order over 20 items we offer a wholesale price.  Samples requested will be charged at our local retail price.

How quickly can I get my order?

Orders of less than 10 items can usually be filled immediately.  However, please remember that some silk is hand woven and our producers are mostly disabled and some are rural ones who work in the rice paddies between June to September.  We are able to produce silk to your specification but please have patience for huge quantities.  Swatches of silk upon request.
